If patients are to be safe and well-cared-for during their hospital stay, it’s up to everyone involved in their care – from housekeeper to physician. St. Mary’s Health Center has launched a new initiative, Always Safe: Every Day, Every Way, to emphasize safety as the top priority.

The Always Safe program is designed to educate and create additional awareness about patient safety by focusing on the three C’s – care, commitment and communication. Always Safe encourages an open sharing of risk and quality results, empowers employee to make suggestions to improve safety, and promotes the reporting of all occurrences to improve processes at the hospital.

All St. Mary’s employees completed Always Safe training in August and September, and physicians will begin training in October.
