St. Mary's Laboratory Re-Accreditation
St. Mary’s Health Center has been recognized for its commitment to quality testing in the laboratory with its recent re-accreditation by the College of American Pathologists.
During the CAP accreditation process, inspectors examined the laboratory’s records and quality-control procedures, including laboratory equipment, facilities, safety programs, staff qualifications and overall management of the laboratory.
“Credit for the successful re-accreditation by the CAP is due to the dedication and diligence of the laboratory staff,” says Dr. Denise Tritz, St. Mary’s laboratory medical director. “They are a remarkable team, exemplifying daily the hospital’s mission and values.”
St. Mary’s laboratory performs 400,000 tests annually and is open 24 hours a day. There are 28 full-time staff members in the laboratory.
The St. Mary’s laboratory accreditation expires in 2012.
