In today’s busy world, women often take care of everybody else before themselves. St. Mary’s Health Center is offering a free community event where women can learn more about their own well-being.

St. Mary’s will host the seventh annual Women’s Health Institute on Thursday, Oct. 20, and Thursday, Nov. 10, both from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. in the A.J. Schwartz Catholic Center, 2207 W. Main Street in Jefferson City. While the first date has already reached its attendance capacity, there is still space available at the Nov. 10 event.

Presentations will be given by Dr. Brandi Nichols, obstetrics/gynecology, on gynecological health; Dr. Jeff Lehmen, spine surgeon, and Dr. John Lucio, pain specialist, on back pain; Denise Coots, dietitian, on healthy eating; and Dr. Sara Echelmeyer, gastroenterologist, on irritable bowel syndrome. Free health screenings and healthy food options will be offered, plus drawings for prizes from local businesses, during the event.
