Learn the basics of breastfeeding, including common techniques, health benefits for you and your baby, and instructors will answer any questions you may have about breastfeeding. Breastfeeding Support Group

Description:
This support group for mothers who are breastfeeding or are thinking about breastfeeding is scheduled for the fourth Wednesday of every month from 5:30pm-6:30pm. Each meeting will include an educational offering as well as time to network with other breastfeeding mothers and to discuss breastfeeding concerns with a lactation consultant. Food is provided and mothers are welcome to bring their babies. RSVP to Becky at 761-7000 extension 3315 at least 2 days prior to the scheduled meeting.

Childbirth Preparation Series

Description:
Expectant parents will learn tools and techniques in this interactive class in preparation for a positive birthing experience. You'll learn about the labor and birth process, including relaxation techniques during labor, as well as what to expect after delivery. Classes are generally scheduled on the same weekday evening for 4 consecutive weeks.

Infant CPR Anytime Class

Description:
"Infant CPR Anytime" class is a new program that reflects the new science in the official 2010 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care. This class is for new parents, grandparents, family members and anyone who wants to learn lifesaving Infant CPR skills but does not need a course completion card. Participants will receive an "all-in-one" training kit that teaches Infant CPR, Infant Choking Relief, & Calling for Help. The course utilizes the AHA's research-proven "practice while watching" technique, which allows users to watch & learn lifesaving skills while practicing on a personal manikin. The class participants will have the teaching kit to take home after course completion & may use the kit to train other family and friends. Course participation will require a maximum of 2 family members per training kit.

Infant Massage

Description:
A comforting touch can do wonders for you and your baby. It can help a baby deal with colic, gas, hiccups, constipation and can help a baby sleep. Massage is also a great way to just relax and bond with your baby. This class will discuss the benefits of massage and the instructor will demonstrate basic massage strokes for your baby.

THESE CLASSES WILL BE FREE FOR A TRIAL PERIOD OF 3 MONTHS (JANUARY-MARCH 2012) FOR PATIENTS WHO WILL BE DELIVERING AT ST. MARY'S HEALTH CENTER!! Expectant parents will learn tools and techniques in this interactive class in preparation for a positive birthing experience. You'll learn about the labor and birth process, including relaxation and breathing techniques used during labor, as well as what to expect after delivery. Dress comfortably and to facilitate your comfort, you may want to bring a pillow. Lunch will be provided.
