Infectious Disease
At SSM Health, our Infectious Disease (ID) specialists provide comprehensive care for patients who need diagnosis and treatment of an infectious process.
Our specialists are first trained in Internal Medicine and then complete an additional 2-3 years of fellowship training in Infectious Diseases.Their expertise includes specialized knowledge about how the body fights infection, how infections spread and the appropriate use of antiinfectives. They can also help you prepare for foreign travel by providing the necessary immunizations and discussing the potential health risks at your destination.
Contact your primary care doctor for a referral to one of our specialists. Our infectious disease providers will work closely with referring providers to coordinate consultation, treatment and follow-up.
To serve you better, please set your location for information on services available in your area.
